The fuel pump is located on the passenger side, inside the fuel tank. To access the fuel pump, you'll need to remove the fuel tank.
Steps to remove the fuel tank on a 2001 Ford F-150:
1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Raise the vehicle and place jack stands under the frame.
3. Remove the rear wheels.
4. Remove fuel lines and breather hose.
5. Remove the straps holding the fuel tank to the vehicle.
6. Lower the fuel tank and disconnect all remaining lines.
7. Remove the lock ring holding the fuel pump in place.
8. Pull the fuel pump out of the tank.
