Procedure
Step 1. Disconnect battery
Remove the bolt, disconnect the electrical connector, and then disconnect the hose attached to the pump assembly. Take the pump assembly out of the vehicle. Remove the filter and float arm from the pump.
Step 2. Remove the fuel tank
Remove the fuel tank retaining bolts, and then carefully lower the tank out of the vehicle.
Step 3. Remove the fuel pump assembly
Remove the fuel pump retaining screws and then remove the pump assembly from the fuel tank.
Step 4. Install the new fuel pump
Install the new fuel pump in the fuel tank, and then secure it in place with the retaining screws.
Step 5. Reinstall the fuel tank
Carefully raise the fuel tank into the vehicle and secure it in place with the retaining bolts. Reconnect the fuel line.
Step 6. Reinstall the fuel pump assembly
Install the filter and float arm onto the pump, then install the pump assembly into the vehicle.
Step 7. Connect the battery
Reconnect the electrical connector, and then connect the hose that goes to the pump assembly. Secure the pump assembly with the retaining bolts.
Step 8. Start the engine
Start the engine and check for any leaks.
