Instructions:
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Remove the wheels from the vehicle.
3. Locate the differential on the rear axle. It is the large, round housing that is located between the wheels.
4. Remove the bolts that secure the differential to the axle housing. There are typically four bolts on each side.
5. Once the bolts are removed, use a screwdriver to pry the differential off of the axle housing.
6. Once the differential is removed, you can disassemble it by following these steps:
* Remove the bolts that secure the differential cover. There are typically four bolts.
* Once the bolts are removed, pry the differential cover off of the housing.
* Remove the differential gears. There are two gears, one on each side of the differential.
* Remove the differential pinion gear. The pinion gear is located in the center of the differential.
* Remove the differential bearings. There are two bearings, one on each side of the differential.
You can now inspect the differential for wear or damage. If any of the parts are damaged, they will need to be replaced.
