Parts needed:
- Replacement low beam headlight bulb (H11 type)
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Flat head screwdriver
- Wrench (optional)
Instructions:
1. Turn off the headlight and allow the engine to cool down.
2. Open the hood of the Odyssey.
3. Locate the headlight assembly. It is the clear plastic housing that contains the headlight bulb.
4. Grip the headlight assembly with one hand and turn the black plastic cap counterclockwise using a Phillips head screwdriver with the other hand.
5. Remove the black plastic cap and set it aside.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the back of the headlight bulb by pressing the release tab and pulling the connector straight off.
7. Use a flat head screwdriver to pry the metal retaining spring out of the way.
8. Remove the old low beam headlight bulb by turning it counterclockwise. Note the position of the old bulb for reference when installing the new one.
9. Insert the new low beam headlight bulb by turning it clockwise. Make sure the bulb is properly seated and the metal retaining spring is in place.
10. Reconnect the electrical connector by pushing it back onto the bulb until it clicks into place.
11. Replace the black plastic cap by turning it clockwise until it is snug.
12. Close the hood.
13. Turn on the headlights to test the new bulb.
Note:
- If the new bulb does not work, check to make sure it is properly seated in the socket and that the electrical connector is fully connected.
- When handling the headlight bulb, be careful not to touch the glass surface with your fingers, as this can cause the bulb to overheat and burn out prematurely.
