Tools and Materials:
- New oil (SAE 30W or SAE 10W-30 motor oil)
- Funnel
- Oil drain pan
- Wrench
- Rags
Instructions:
1. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to warm up the oil.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down for a few minutes.
3. Place the oil drain pan under the oil drain plug, located on the bottom of the engine crankcase.
4. Loosen the oil drain plug and allow the oil to drain completely.
5. Replace the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.
6. Remove the oil filter, located near the top of the engine.
7. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
8. Screw on the new oil filter until it is snug.
9. Add new oil to the engine crankcase, using the funnel.
10. Check the oil level using the oil dipstick.
11. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
12. Recheck the oil level and add more oil if necessary.
Note:
- The oil capacity for the rear-tine tiller models 410 and 420 is 0.6 quarts (0.57 liters).
- Use caution when handling hot oil.
