1. Park the vehicle on level ground and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood of the vehicle.
3. Locate the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) dipstick. It is usually marked with a red handle and is located near the back of the engine compartment.
4. Pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean with a rag.
5. Reinsert the dipstick into the transmission fluid reservoir and check the fluid level. The fluid level should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.
6. If the fluid level is low, add enough ATF to bring it up to the "Full" mark.
7. Reinsert the dipstick and close the hood of the vehicle.
8. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to circulate the new ATF.
9. Recheck the fluid level and add more ATF if necessary.
