1. Gather the necessary tools and materials. You will need:
* Two functional remote controls
* A working car battery
* A Phillips head screwdriver
2. Prepare the vehicle.
* Park the vehicle in a safe location, and turn off the engine.
* Put the vehicle in "Park" (for automatic transmissions) or "Neutral" (for manual transmissions).
* Engage the parking brake.
3. Open the driver's door.
Locate the Remote Control Keyless Entry (RKE) module. It is usually located under the driver's side dash, near the steering column.
4. Connect to the programming mode.
* Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position, and then back to the "OFF" position.
* Do this three times in rapid succession, ending in the "ON" position.
5. Press the button on the first remote control.
* Within 15 seconds of turning the ignition key to the "ON" position, press and hold the LOCK button on the first remote control.
* Hold the button down until the doors lock and unlock.
6. Press the button on the second remote control.
* Within 15 seconds of the doors locking and unlocking, press and hold the LOCK button on the second remote control.
* Hold the button down until the doors lock and unlock again.
7. Turn off the ignition key.
* Turn the ignition key from the "ON" position back to the "OFF" position.
Your second remote control should now be programmed and functional.
