1. Remove the tractor fuel cap.
2. Look inside the fuel tank and locate the fuel pickup tube. The fuel pickup tube is a metal tube that extends from the bottom of the fuel tank to the top.
3. Use a flashlight to inspect the fuel pickup tube. If the fuel pickup tube is damaged, replace it.
4. Reinstall the fuel cap.
5. Start the tractor and let it run for a few minutes.
6. Turn off the tractor and open the fuel tank cap.
7. If the fuel level in the fuel tank has not changed, the tractor protection valve is working properly. If the fuel level in the fuel tank has decreased, the tractor protection valve is not working properly and should be replaced.
