1. Open the bonnet of your car.
Locate the fuse and relay box, which is usually situated in the engine bay, near the battery. It's typically a black plastic box with a hinged cover.
2. Open the fuse and relay box cover.
3. Identify the fuel pump relay.
It may be marked as "fuel pump relay" or "FR" in the fuse and relay box diagram or on the relay itself.
4. Remove the fuel pump relay.
Gently pull the relay straight up and out of its socket.
5. Inspect the fuel pump relay.
Look for any signs of damage, such as burnt or corroded terminals. If the relay appears damaged, replace it with a new one.
6. Reinstall the fuel pump relay.
Press the new relay firmly into its socket until it clicks into place.
7. Close the fuse and relay box cover.
8. Close the bonnet of your car.
