- Small screwdriver
- 10 mm socket
- Pliers
- Funnel
Procedure:
1. Park the car in a level area and turn off the engine.
2. Allow the engine to cool down.
3. Open the hood and remove the air filter cover.
4. Locate the coolant sensor. It is a small, cylindrical sensor located on the front of the engine, near the thermostat housing.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the coolant sensor.
6. Use a 10 mm socket to loosen the coolant sensor from the engine.
7. Remove the coolant sensor from the engine.
8. Apply sealant tape around the threads of the new coolant sensor.
9. Screw the new coolant sensor into the engine.
10. Tighten the coolant sensor to 22 Nm.
11. Connect the electrical connector to the coolant sensor.
12. Replace the air filter cover.
13. Close the hood.
NOTE:
- Make sure the engine is cool before you start working on it.
- Be careful not to drop the coolant sensor into the engine.
- If you spill any coolant, clean it up immediately. Coolant is poisonous.
