1. Park another car with a working battery close to your Mercedes so that the jumper cables can reach both vehicles.
2. Turn off the engines of both cars.
3. Open the hoods of both cars.
4. Locate the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals on the batteries of both cars. The positive terminal is usually marked with a "+" symbol and is typically red, while the negative terminal is marked with a "-" symbol and is typically black.
5. Connect one end of the positive (+) jumper cable to the positive (+) terminal of the dead battery in your Mercedes.
6. Connect the other end of the positive (+) jumper cable to the positive (+) terminal of the working battery in the other car.
7. Connect one end of the negative (-) jumper cable to the negative (-) terminal of the working battery in the other car.
8. Connect the other end of the negative (-) jumper cable to an unpainted metal surface on your Mercedes, such as the engine block. This is done to avoid sparks near the battery.
9. Start the engine of the other car and let it run for a few minutes to charge the dead battery in your Mercedes.
10. Try to start your Mercedes. If it starts, leave it running for a few minutes to charge the battery further.
11. Disconnect the jumper cables in the reverse order of how they were connected.
12. Close the hoods of both cars.
It's important to follow these steps carefully to avoid any damage to the electrical systems of both vehicles. If you are unsure about how to jump-start a car, it's best to consult your vehicle's owner's manual or seek help from a professional.
