1. Park your Golf on a level surface.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
3. Open the fuel tank cap.
4. Locate the fuel tank drain plug. It is usually located on the bottom of the fuel tank, near the rear of the vehicle.
5. Place a drain pan under the fuel tank drain plug.
6. Use a wrench to loosen the fuel tank drain plug.
7. Allow the fuel to drain from the fuel tank into the drain pan.
8. Once the fuel has stopped draining, reinstall the fuel tank drain plug.
9. Close the fuel tank cap.
