1. Locate the emergency trunk release lever. On the Jaguar XJ8, this lever is usually located in the center console, near the gearshift.
2. Pull the emergency trunk release lever. This will disengage the trunk latch, allowing you to open the trunk.
3. If the emergency trunk release lever does not work, you may need to use the key to unlock the trunk. The keyhole for the trunk is located on the outside of the trunk lid.
4. Insert the key into the keyhole and turn it to the left to unlock the trunk.
5. Once the trunk is unlocked, you can open it by lifting the trunk lid.
