* On the dash, usually near the lower left corner: Look carefully along the edge of the dashboard where it meets the firewall. This is the most common location. The stamping may be faint or worn.
* On the driver's side doorpost: This is a less common but possible location. Again, check carefully for a faded or barely visible stamping.
* In the service records or documentation: If you have original paperwork for the car, the serial number should be listed there.
Keep in mind that the number you find will be a serial number, not a VIN as we know it today. It will be a combination of numbers and/or letters identifying the specific vehicle.
