1. Driver's side dashboard: Look through the lower edge of the windshield on the driver's side. The VIN is usually stamped into the dashboard itself, near where the steering column meets the dash.
2. Driver's side doorjamb: Open the driver's side door. The VIN might be stamped on the doorjamb, usually near the latch mechanism.
3. Vehicle certification label: This sticker, sometimes called the "compliance label," is located on the driver's side doorjamb, often near the VIN stamped into the metal. While the VIN is *on* the label, it's also usually stamped directly onto the doorjamb.
Check all three locations as it's possible the VIN is clearer in one spot than another due to wear and tear.
