* Driver's side dashboard: This is the most common location. Look on the lower left corner of the dashboard, visible through the windshield.
* Driver's side doorjamb: This is a secondary location, often stamped into the metal.
* On the vehicle's title or registration documents: The VIN will be clearly listed on these official documents.
While the dashboard is the primary location, check all three places to be certain. If you have trouble locating it, a picture of the dashboard area, particularly the lower left corner as viewed from outside the vehicle, may be helpful for someone to pinpoint it for you.
