How long should you warm a car?

It is generally not necessary to warm up a modern fuel-injected vehicle for more than 30 seconds to a minute before driving. Advances in engine technology and fuel injection systems mean that cars reach optimum operating temperature much faster than older vehicles.

Here are a few reasons why you don't need to warm up your car for extended periods:
