What kind of car is Ford Escort Cosworth?

The Ford Escort Cosworth is a high-performance version of the Ford Escort, developed by Ford's Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) division in Boreham, Essex. It was produced between 1992 and 1996 and was available in two body styles: a three-door hatchback and a five-door estate.

The Escort Cosworth was powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 227 hp (230 PS) and 221 lb⋅ft (300 N⋅m) of torque. It had a five-speed manual transmission and a four-wheel drive system. The car was capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 6.1 seconds and had a top speed of 144 mph (232 km/h).

The Escort Cosworth was distinguished from the standard Escort by its wider body, flared wheel arches, and a large rear spoiler. It also had a number of performance-enhancing features, including uprated brakes, suspension, and exhaust system.

The Escort Cosworth was a successful rally car, winning the World Rally Championship in 1992 and 1993. It was also popular as a road car, and is considered to be one of the most iconic Ford models ever produced.
