_1._ Park your vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Locate the hood release lever. It is located on the driver’s side footwell, near the brake pedal.
3. Pull the hood release lever. The hood will release slightly.
4. Go to the front of your vehicle and locate the secondary hood latch. It is located in the center of the hood, just below the BMW emblem.
5. Pull the secondary hood latch.
6. The hood will now be fully open.
