Where do you put l plates on a car?

In the United Kingdom, learner drivers must display L plates on the front and rear of their vehicles. The plates must be clearly visible from a distance of at least 50 metres and must be made of a reflective material. The letters "L" must be at least 200mm high and 100mm wide.
