1. Open the hood of your car.
2. Locate the coolant temperature sensor. It is usually located on the top of the engine, near the thermostat housing.
3. The coolant temperature sensor is usually a small, cylindrical device with a wire connector attached to it.
4. Disconnect the wire connector from the coolant temperature sensor.
5. Use a wrench to loosen the coolant temperature sensor from the engine.
6. Remove the coolant temperature sensor from the engine.
7. Inspect the coolant temperature sensor for damage. If the sensor is damaged, it will need to be replaced.
8. Install the new coolant temperature sensor in the engine.
9. Tighten the coolant temperature sensor with a wrench.
10. Reconnect the wire connector to the coolant temperature sensor.
11. Close the hood of your car.
