1. Open the hood of the car.
2. Locate the coolant reservoir. It is a translucent plastic tank with a black cap.
3. Follow the upper radiator hose from the coolant reservoir to the engine block.
4. The coolant temperature sensor is located on the engine block, near where the upper radiator hose connects.
5. It is a small, cylindrical sensor with a single electrical connector.
