- Vehicle title
- Vehicle registration
- Proof of insurance
- Bill of Sale (This may not be required, but it can help in the process)
- Completed Application for Title Transfer (Form MV-1)
- Lienholder information (If applicable)
- Photo identification of both the buyer and seller
2. Visit the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles):
- Take all of the necessary documentation to your local DMV office.
- Submit the documents and pay the required fee.
- Sign the title over to the new owner.
- The DMV will issue a new title in the name of the new owner.
3. Update your insurance:
- Contact your insurance company and provide them with the new title information.
- Make sure that the new owner's name is added to the policy.
