Tools and Materials Needed:
- Replacement brake light bulb
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Small flathead screwdriver
Instructions:
1. Turn off the head lights and ensure that the parking brake is engaged.
2. Open the rear hatch of the Murano. Remove the plastic cover panel over the brake light assembly by turning the two Phillips-head screws counterclockwise.
3. Remove the burned-out brake light bulb by turning it counterclockwise. Gently pull the bulb out of the assembly.
4. Insert the new brake light bulb into the assembly by turning it clockwise. Push the bulb in until it is seated properly.
5. Replace the plastic cover panel over the brake light assembly and secure it with the two Phillips-head screws.
6. Test the brake lights by turning on the ignition switch and depressing the brake pedal. Both brake lights should illuminate brightly.
Here are some additional tips for replacing the brake light on a 2003 Nissan Murano:
- Be careful not to drop the screws when removing the plastic cover panel.
- If the brake light bulb is stuck, you can use a small flathead screwdriver to gently pry it out of the assembly.
- Be sure to replace the brake light bulb with the correct type of bulb for your vehicle.
