Changing the Rear Parking or Tail Light on a Nissan Maxima

1. Park your vehicle in a safe location and turn off the engine.

- Make sure the parking brake is engaged.

2. Open the trunk of your Maxima.

3. Locate the tail light assembly that needs to be replaced.

- The tail light assembly is located on the side of the trunk, near the rear bumper.

4. Remove the two bolts that hold the tail light assembly in place.

- Use a Phillips head screwdriver to loosen the bolts.

5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the tail light assembly.

- Press the release tab on the connector and pull it straight out.

6. Remove the tail light assembly from the vehicle.

- Gently pull the assembly straight out of the vehicle.

7. Transfer the light bulb from the old assembly to the new one.

8. Reinstall the tail light assembly in the reverse order of removal.

- Insert the tail light assembly into the vehicle.

- Connect the electrical connector to the tail light assembly.

- Secure the tail light assembly with the two bolts.

9. Test the tail light to ensure that it is working properly.

- Turn on the parking lights or headlights and check that the tail light is illuminated.
