How do you remove the rear bumper from a 1976 corvette?

To remove the rear bumper from a 1976 Corvette, follow these steps:

1. Park the car on a level surface. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down completely.

2. Open the trunk. Remove the spare tire and any other items from the trunk that may interfere with the removal of the bumper.

3. Remove the license plate and its mounting bracket from the rear bumper.

4. Place a jack under the rear end of the car. Raise the car until the wheels are about 6 inches off the ground.

5. Locate the bumper bolts on either side of the car. There will be two bolts on each side. Loosen the bolts by turning them counterclockwise with a wrench.

6. Remove the nuts from the bumper mounting brackets. There are two nuts on each side of the car. Use a wrench to turn the nuts counterclockwise until they come off.

7. Carefully lift the bumper up and off the car. Be careful not to damage the paint on the car.

8. Once the bumper is removed, you can access the rear bumper shocks. Remove the shocks by unbolting them from the frame of the car.

9. Reinstall the bumper shocks in the reverse order of removal.

10. Reattach the bumper to the car by replacing the nuts and bolts. Tighten the nuts and bolts until they are snug.

11. Lower the car until it is back on the ground.

12. Reattach the license plate and its mounting bracket.

13. You have now successfully removed the rear bumper from a 1976 Corvette.
