Where is the location of cam sensor on a 97 lincoln town car?

The camshaft position sensor (CMP) is located on the front of the engine, on the driver's side. It is mounted in the camshaft housing, just below the intake manifold. The CMP is a magnetic sensor that reads the position of the camshaft. This information is used by the engine control module (ECM) to control the fuel injection and ignition timing.

Tools Required:

* Socket set

* Wrench set

* Pliers

* Screwdriver

Instructions:

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Locate the camshaft position sensor. It is located on the front of the engine, on the driver's side. It is mounted in the camshaft housing, just below the intake manifold.

3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the camshaft position sensor.

4. Use a wrench to loosen the bolt that holds the camshaft position sensor in place.

5. Remove the camshaft position sensor from the engine.

6. Inspect the camshaft position sensor for damage. If the sensor is damaged, replace it.

7. Install the new camshaft position sensor.

8. Tighten the bolt that holds the camshaft position sensor in place.

9. Reconnect the electrical connector to the camshaft position sensor.

10. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.

Tips:

* When disconnecting the electrical connector from the camshaft position sensor, be careful not to damage the connector or the sensor.

* When installing the new camshaft position sensor, make sure that the sensor is fully seated in the camshaft housing.
