Why would the Brake light go on if brake pads a good. The car was sitting for weeks in dusty conditions.Could dust have gotten into braking system?

1. Dusty brake pads: It is possible that dust and dirt accumulated on the brake pads while the vehicle was sitting, which could cause the brake light to come on. Check the brake pads for excessive dust and clean them if necessary.

2. Brake fluid level: If the brake fluid level is low, the brake light will usually come on. Check the brake fluid reservoir and top it up to the recommended level if necessary.

3. Faulty brake sensor: The brake light is activated by a sensor that detects when the brake pads are worn down. It is possible that the sensor itself is faulty, causing the light to come on even though the brake pads are good.

4. Faulty wiring: If there is a problem with the wiring that connects the brake sensor to the brake light, it could cause the light to come on even though the brake pads are good.

5. Other issues: In rare cases, a problem with the brake master cylinder or a brake line could also cause the brake light to come on, even though the brake pads are good.
