1. Open the hood of your Cadillac.
2. Locate the engine. It is the large metal object in the front of the car.
3. Find the serpentine belt. It is the long, thin belt that goes around the front of the engine.
4. Follow the serpentine belt until you find the belt tensioner. It is a metal device that is attached to the engine block and has a spring-loaded arm.
5. The belt tensioner is located on the front side of the engine, about halfway up.
6. It has a 10mm bolt that holds the tensioner in place. To release the tension on the belt, loosen the 10mm bolt.
7. Once the tension is released, you can remove the belt from the tensioner.
