1. The front jacking point is located behind the front wheel on the pinch weld.
Use only a jack designed for automotive use capable of lifting the weight of your vehicle or use the jack recommended by the vehicle manufacturer (in trunk or under driver’s seat).
Ensure that the parking brake is applied. (Refer to the “Parking brake” section in the “Controls and adjustments” section.)
If the vehicle is on a soft or uneven surface such as dirt, sand, or gravel, use a piece of wood or other solid material to provide a firm, level surface for the jack.
Ensure that the parking brake is applied.
Place the jack under the pinch weld behind the front wheel. Ensure that the jack is securely engaged in the pinch weld.
Begin jacking up the vehicle slowly and carefully until the tire is just off the ground.
Place the jack stands.
Rear jacking point
1. Raise the vehicle on the front until both rear wheels are off the ground. Do not raise higher than necessary
to relieve the weight from the rear wheels
2. Engage the parking brake and place the transmission into (PARK) Park with the engine off.
3. Use a jack stand (or two) beneath the rear lifting point to support the rear of the vehicle. Use proper jacking equipment. Be sure to always engage the parking brake and chock the wheels whenever raising the vehicle.
4. Slowly lower the vehicle until the jack stand(s) support its full weight.
5. Make sure that the jack stands are properly located and stable.
6. Do not work under the vehicle until you have verified that it is safely supported by the jack stands and wheels are chocked.
