How do you shift a triumph America motorcycle?

To shift gears on a Triumph America motorcycle:

1. Ensure the clutch lever is fully pulled in. This disengages the engine from the transmission, allowing gears to be shifted smoothly.

2. Press down on the gearshift lever with your left foot. The gearshift lever is located on the left side of the motorcycle, just below the footpeg.

3. Shift up or down into the desired gear. To shift up, press down on the gearshift lever. To shift down, lift up on the gearshift lever.

4. Release the clutch lever slowly. As you release the clutch lever, the engine will re-engage with the transmission and power will be transferred to the rear wheel. Be sure to release the clutch lever slowly to avoid a jarring shift.

The Triumph America motorcycle has a five-speed transmission. The gear positions are as follows:

1. Neutral

2. First gear

3. Second gear

4. Third gear

5. Fourth gear

6. Fifth gear

The neutral position is indicated by a green "N" light on the instrument panel. When the motorcycle is in neutral, the engine will be idling and the rear wheel will not turn.

To find first gear, press down on the gearshift lever until it reaches the stop. This will ensure that the motorcycle is in first gear when you start off.

To shift up into second, third, fourth, and fifth gears, press down on the gearshift lever one time for each gear. To shift down into third, second, and first gears, lift up on the gearshift lever one time for each gear.
