Im working on a 1998 Chevy Z71 you have to put the distributor in your 350 vortec where is timing marks crank damper for top dead center and do set roter button number 1 on?

The 1998 Chevy Z71 350 Vortec engine doesn't use a distributor. It has a coil-near-plug (CNP) ignition system. Therefore, there's no distributor rotor, no distributor to install, and no distributor timing to set. The timing is controlled by the PCM (Powertrain Control Module).

You won't find timing marks on the crank damper used in the traditional sense for setting distributor timing. If you have a problem with your ignition system, you'll need to troubleshoot the coil packs, wiring, crankshaft position sensor (CKP), and the PCM itself, and potentially use a scan tool to check for diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
