* Gather your tools. You will need a Phillips head screwdriver, a flat head screwdriver, and a pair of pliers.
* Open the rear hatch of your Malibu Maxx.
* Locate the plastic cap that covers the wiper arm nut. It is located at the base of the wiper arm.
* Pry the plastic cap off with the flat head screwdriver.
* Loosen the wiper arm nut with the Phillips head screwdriver.
* Once the nut is loose, use the pliers to pull the wiper arm straight up off of the wiper shaft.
Tips:
Be careful not to drop the wiper arm nut into the wiper motor housing.
If the wiper arm is stuck, you can use a penetrating oil to help loosen it.
