Instructions:
1. Drain the Radiator:
- Locate the radiator drain plug on the underside of your vehicle.
- Place a radiator drain pan beneath the plug.
- Loosen the drain plug and allow all the coolant to drain out.
2. Remove the Serpentine Belt:
- Locate the serpentine belt tensioner.
- Using the wrench, relax the tensioner and remove the serpentine belt.
3. Remove the Water Pump:
- The water pump is usually located on the front or side of the engine block.
- Remove the bolts holding the water pump in place and carefully remove it.
- Clean the gasket mating surfaces.
4. Install the New Water Pump:
- Apply a thin layer of gasket sealant to the new water pump gasket and place the gasket on the water pump.
- Align the water pump with the mounting bolts and carefully insert and tighten the bolts. Do not overtighten.
5. Reinstall the Serpentine Belt:
- Reposition the serpentine belt onto the pulleys and retighten the belt tensioner.
6. Refill the Coolant:
- Replace the radiator drain plug.
- Fill the radiator with a blend of the correct amount of coolant and distilled water as per the owner’s manual.
- Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to allow the coolant to circulate and remove any air pockets.
- Check the coolant level and top up if required.
7. Test the System:
- Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
- Keep an eye on the temperature gauge to make sure it stays in normal range.
- Check the area around the water pump for any signs of leaks.
