1. Park your Colorado in a safe location and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood of your Colorado.
3. Locate the negative battery terminal, which is usually marked with a (-) symbol. It is typically black in color.
4. Loosen the nut or bolt that holds the negative battery cable to the battery terminal using a wrench or socket set.
5. Remove the negative battery cable from the battery terminal and set it aside.
