Step 1: Accessing the Adjustment Area
Open the sliding door and locate the plastic cover with "Ford" logo at the bottom track area. Carefully pry off this cover using a flat head screwdriver to expose the adjustment screws beneath.
Step 2: Adjusting the Bottom Roller Position
Use the Torx wrench to turn the bottom roller adjustment screws clockwise or counterclockwise to lift or lower the door.
- Clockwise: Lifts the door
- Counterclockwise: Lowers the door
Adjust both screws equally until the door aligns with the opening and rolls smoothly.
Step 3: Adjusting the Top Roller Position
Locate the two 5mm Allen key screws on the top track area. Use the 5mm Allen key to turn the top roller adjustment screws to adjust the door's horizontal alignment.
- Clockwise: Moves the door inward
- Counterclockwise: Moves the door outward
Adjust both screws equally until the door closes and opens smoothly, without rubbing against the door frame.
Step 4: Checking Door Alignment
Close and open the sliding door several times to ensure it aligns properly with the door frame and rolls smoothly. Make any necessary micro-adjustments to the bottom and top rollers until you achieve the desired alignment and operation.
Step 5: Reattaching the Plastic Cover
Once the alignment and operation are satisfactory, reattach the plastic cover to the bottom track area to conceal the adjustment screws. Press the cover firmly until it snaps into place.
Important Note:
The alignment of the sliding door may also be affected by worn or damaged rollers and adjustment mechanisms. If you experience persistent issues after making adjustments or encounter significant damage to the door mechanism, it's advisable to consult with a professional automotive technician for further inspection and repairs.
