Procedure:
1. Prepare the Vehicle:
- Park the truck on a level surface.
- Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
- Engage the parking brake.
- Raise the front of the truck with a jack and place jack stands under the frame to support the weight.
2. Remove the Pitman Arm:
- Use a pitman arm puller to disconnect the pitman arm from the steering linkage.
- Loosen the bolts holding the pitman arm to the steering gear.
- Remove the pitman arm from the steering gear.
3. Remove the Idler Arm:
- Use an idler arm puller to disconnect the idler arm from the steering linkage.
- Loosen the bolts holding the idler arm to the frame.
- Remove the idler arm from the frame.
4. Install the New Idler Arm:
- Position the new idler arm in place on the frame.
- Tighten the bolts to secure the idler arm to the frame.
- Reattach the idler arm to the steering linkage using the puller.
5. Install the New Pitman Arm:
- Position the new pitman arm in place on the steering gear.
- Tighten the bolts to secure the pitman arm to the steering gear.
- Reattach the pitman arm to the steering linkage using the puller.
6. Lower the Vehicle:
- Carefully lower the front of the truck off the jack stands.
- Remove the jack and jack stands.
7. Test the Steering:
- Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes.
- Turn the steering wheel left and right to check for any binding or unusual noises.
8. Road Test:
- Take the truck for a road test to ensure that the steering is functioning properly.

- It's important to properly torque all the bolts to the manufacturer's specifications to ensure a safe and secure repair.
