Materials:
- A flathead screwdriver
- A pair of pliers
- A new map light console housing (available online or at a local auto parts store)
Instructions:
1. Remove the old map light console:
- Use a flathead screwdriver to pry open the plastic cover on the side of the console.
- Once the cover is open, use the pliers to remove the two screws that hold the console in place.
- Pull the console straight down to remove it.
2. Install the new map light console:
- Slide the new console into place, making sure that the clips on the back of the console line up with the holes in the car.
- Re-insert the two screws that hold the console in place.
- Replace the plastic cover.
Tips:
- If the clips on the new console do not line up with the holes in the car, you may need to use a file to widen the holes.
- Be careful not to over-tighten the screws when replacing them, as this can damage the console.
Once you have installed the new map light console, it will be securely attached and the light should be working properly again.
