How to Replace the Illuminated Shift Indicator Bulb on a 1993 Chevrolet Lumina Euro 3.4

1. Park the vehicle in "P" (Park) and turn off the engine.

2. Locate the shift lever console. This is the panel that houses the gear shift lever and the illuminated shift indicator.

3. Pry up the trim panel around the shift lever console. There are four tabs that hold the panel in place. You can use a flat-head screwdriver or your fingernails to pry up the tabs.

4. Remove the trim panel. Once the tabs are pried up, you can remove the trim panel by pulling it straight up.

5. Locate the illuminated shift indicator bulb. The bulb is located at the bottom of the shift lever console. It is a small, white bulb.

6. Remove the illuminated shift indicator bulb. Twist the bulb counterclockwise to remove it.

7. Install the new illuminated shift indicator bulb. Twist the new bulb clockwise until it is snug.

8. Replace the trim panel. Snap the trim panel back into place by pushing it down until it clicks into place.

9. Test the illuminated shift indicator bulb. Shift the gear lever into each gear and make sure that the illuminated shift indicator lights up.
