1. Locate the alarm control module. It is usually located under the driver's side dashboard.
2. Disconnect the power connector from the alarm control module.
3. Remove the alarm control module from the vehicle.
4. Cut the wires that connect the alarm control module to the vehicle's electrical system.
5. Install a new alarm system, if desired.
Here are some additional tips for disabling a factory alarm:
- Be sure to disconnect the battery before working on the alarm system.
- If you are not comfortable working on electrical systems, you can have a qualified technician disable the alarm for you.
- After you have disabled the alarm, be sure to test it to make sure it is not still active.
