Materials:
- Replacement Thermostat
- Gaskets
- New Coolant
- Wrench Set
- Drain pan
- Funnel
Instructions:
1. Cool Down Engine: Allow your Paseo's engine to cool down completely to prevent burns.
2. Drain Coolant: Place a drain pan underneath your radiator's drain plug and open it to let the coolant drain completely.
3. Locate the Thermostat: The thermostat is usually housed in a housing connected to the upper radiator hose. It can be found at the front of the engine.
4. Remove Old Thermostat: Use a wrench to loosen and remove the bolts or screws holding the thermostat housing in place. Be careful not to drop any bolts. Remove the old thermostat from its housing.
5. Inspect Old Thermostat: Check the condition of the old thermostat for any damage or defects. Compare it with the new one to ensure they're the same size and type.
6. Install New Thermostat: Place the new thermostat in the housing, making sure it is correctly aligned. Make sure the gasket is properly seated between the thermostat and housing.
7. Reattach Thermostat Housing: Replace the housing and securely tighten the bolts or screws.
8. Fill Up with Coolant: Once the thermostat is installed, close the radiator drain plug. Use a funnel to fill up your radiator and expansion tank with the new coolant. Use a 50/50 mix of coolant and distilled water.
9. Check for Leaks: Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for any leaks around the thermostat housing and other connections. Make sure the coolant level doesn't drop.
10. Top Up Coolant: If necessary, top up the coolant in the radiator and expansion tank to ensure the system is full.
Remember: Always refer to your car's service manual for specific details and recommended procedures for your exact vehicle model.
