1. New Windshield Fluid (Check owner's manual for recommended type)
2. Funnel
3. Clean water (Optional, but recommended for rinsing)
Procedure:
1. Locate Windshield Fluid Reservoir:
- Open the hood of your Camry and find the windshield fluid reservoir.
- It is typically a translucent plastic container located on the driver's side near the firewall.
2. Remove Reservoir Cap:
- Unscrew or remove the cap of the windshield fluid reservoir.
3. Empty the Reservoir:
- Pour out as much of the old, smelly fluid as possible into a suitable container.
4. Rinse Reservoir (Optional):
- To ensure a proper clean, you may want to rinse the inside of the reservoir with a bit of clean water and shake the reservoir to rinse all sides.
- Drain any remaining water out through the reservoir cap opening.
5. Add New Windshield Fluid:
- Use a funnel to add the new windshield fluid to the reservoir.
- Fill it up to the indicated level mark or to about 1-1.5 inches below the top.
- Avoid overfilling to prevent leakage or spills.
6. Close the Reservoir Cap:
- Securely replace the cap on the reservoir. Make sure it is closed tightly.
7. Test the Windshield Wipers:
- Turn on the ignition and operate the windshield wipers a few times to circulate the new fluid.
Your windshield fluid reservoir should be fully replaced with the new fluid, and the bad smell should be eliminated.
Regularly checking and replacing the windshield fluid is essential for maintaining visibility while driving and preventing damage to the fluid reservoir and pump.
