What is the valve adjustments on a 2.3 izuzu pickup?

The valve adjustment specifications for a 2.3L Isuzu pickup are as follows:

Intake valve:

- Cold: 0.15 - 0.25 mm (0.006 - 0.010 in)

- Hot: 0.25 - 0.35 mm (0.010 - 0.014 in)

Exhaust valve:

- Cold: 0.25 - 0.35 mm (0.010 - 0.014 in)

- Hot: 0.35 - 0.45 mm (0.014 - 0.018 in)

To adjust the valves, you will need the following tools:

- Feeler gauge

- 9/32-inch Allen wrench

- 24mm wrench

Instructions:

1. Allow the engine to cool down completely.

2. Remove the valve cover by removing the four 10mm bolts.

3. Turn the crankshaft until the piston of the cylinder you are adjusting is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke. To find the correct position:

- The marks on the camshaft pulley must be aligned with the marks on the cylinder head (in the 12 o'clock position).

4. Using the feeler gauge, measure the gap between the rocker arm and the valve stem. The gap should be within the specified range.

5. If the gap is too small, use the 9/32-inch Allen wrench to turn the adjusting screw clockwise until the gap is correct.

6. If the gap is too large, use the 24mm wrench to loosen the locknut on the adjusting screw. Then, turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise until the gap is correct.

7. Repeat steps 3-6 for the remaining valves.

8. Once you have adjusted all of the valves, reinstall the valve cover and bolts.

9. Start the engine and check for any leaks or unusual noises.
