Note: Always make sure the vehicle is turned off and the parking brake is applied before starting any work.
1. Remove the gear knob cover (optional): Some Peugeot 307 models may have a cover that goes over the gear stick knob. If your vehicle has a cover, pry it off gently using a pry tool or your fingers.
2. Unscrew the existing gear knob: There should be a small set screw located at the base of the gear knob. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to loosen and remove this screw. Be careful not to drop the screw.
3. Pull off the gear knob: Once the set screw is removed, you should be able to pull the gear knob straight up and off the gear shifter. If it's tight, you may need to use a bit of force or gently wiggle the knob from side to side to loosen it.
4. Install the new gear knob: Align the new gear knob with the gear shifter and press it down firmly until it's snug.
5. Screw in the set screw: Use the Phillips head screwdriver to tighten the set screw at the base of the gear knob. Make sure the screw is snug to secure the gear knob in place.
6. Reinstall the gear knob cover (if applicable): If your vehicle has a gear knob cover, put it back in place by gently pressing it down until it snaps into position.
