Tools and Materials Needed:
- 8mm Socket wrench
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
- Flathead Screwdriver
- Oil pan or Drain Pan
Instructions:
1. Park your car on a level surface and turn off the engine. Allow it to cool down sufficiently to avoid burns.
2. Locate the plastic cover under the engine. It should be in the middle of the vehicle underneath the oil filter housing.
3. Use a Phillips Head Screwdriver to remove the two screws that secure the plastic cover to the engine block. Set the screws aside.
4. Locate the four plastic push-pin clips that hold the plastic cover in place. Using a flathead screwdriver, gently pry up on the center of each clip and remove them from the cover. Be careful not to damage the clips or the cover.
5. With the screws and clips removed, you should be able to lift the plastic cover off and pull it out from under the engine. Be mindful of any wires or hoses that may be attached to the cover and disconnect them carefully if needed.
6. Dispose of the old oil and gasket. If replacing, install the new gasket and drain plug on the oil pan.
*Note: Some Peugeot 308 models may have additional clips or fasteners used to secure the cover. If you encounter additional fasteners, loosen them and remove the cover by lifting and pulling as mentioned in step 5.*
