Instructions:
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal to disconnect the battery.
2. Remove the air intake duct located on the driver’s side of the engine bay by removing the two bolts that hold it in place.
3. Remove the serpentine belt by loosening the tensioner pulley with a wrench and slipping it off the alternator pulley.
4. Unplug the electrical connectors from the alternator.
*The large positive connector will have a bolt holding it in place and will require a 13 mm wrench to remove*
5. Remove the bolts holding the alternator in place.
*There are two bolts on the back of the alternator that require a 16mm wrench and one on the bottom that can be removed with an extension*
6. Remove the old alternator from the engine bay.
7. Install the new alternator in reverse order of removal.
*Make sure the alternator is seated correctly before you tighten the bolts.*
8. Tighten the alternator bolts to the specified torque.
*The torque specification for this model can be found in your vehicle’s service manual.*
9. Reinstall the serpentine belt.
*Adjust the tensioner pulley until the belt has the proper tension.*
10. Reinstall the air intake duct.
11. Reconnect the negative battery terminal to reconnect the battery.
12. Start the engine and check the charging system to make sure the alternator is working properly.
