Remove exterior door handle on 97 VW jetta gt?

1.) Unscrew the two screws that secure the door handle to the door panel. These screws are located on the inside of the door panel, near the top and bottom of the door handle.

2.) Once these two screws are removed, remove the door handle by pulling it straight towards you. The handle may be stuck in place with some sealant or adhesive, so you may need to use a flat-head screwdriver to pry it loose.

3.) Once the door handle is removed, you can remove the exterior door handle cover. This cover is held in place with two screws, one on each side of the handle.

4.) Remove these screws and then pull the cover straight towards you to remove it.

5.) Once the cover is removed, you can remove the exterior door handle. This is held in place with three bolts, two on the top and one on the bottom.

6.) Remove these bolts and then pull the door handle straight towards you to remove it.
