Who invented motorcycle helmets?

The first known person to invent and wear a protective head covering or helmet while riding a motorcycle was Arthur Prince. He was an English inventor and racer who began experimenting with protective gear in the early 1900s. Prince constructed a helmet for personal use while riding and promoted the use of helmets through motorcycle clubs and exhibitions. However, it was not until the 1930s and 1940s that the idea of wearing helmets gained wider acceptance and began to be adopted more broadly by motorcyclists.
