How to change ball joints on a 650 brute force?

Here are the steps on how to change ball joints on a 650 Brute Force:

1. Before beginning, gather the following tools and supplies:

- New ball joints

- Pry bar

- Hammer

- Socket set (1/4, 3/8 & 1/2)

- Torque wrench

- Penetrating oil

- Jack

- Jack stands

2. Park your 650 Brute Force on a level surface. Engage the parking brake and ensure the engine is off.

3. Use the jack and jack stands to lift the ATV until the front wheels are off the ground.

4. Locate the ball joints on the ATV's front suspension. They connect the upper control arms to the knuckles. Each side of the ATV has an upper and a lower ball joint.

5. Spray a liberal amount of penetrating oil onto the nuts and bolts that hold the ball joints in place. Allow the penetrating oil to sit and work for a few minutes.

6. Use the appropriate wrench or socket to loosen the bolts or nuts that attach the ball joints to the upper and lower control arms. Remove these nuts and bolts.

7. Use a pry bar to separate the ball joints from the upper and lower control arms. Be careful not to damage the control arms or any surrounding parts.

8. Remove the old ball joints from the ATV.

9. Install the new ball joints onto the control arms. Use the new nuts or bolts to secure them into place.

10. Tighten the nuts and bolts that attach the ball joints to the upper control arm to 35 ft-lb. Tighten the nuts and bolts that attach the ball joints to the lower control arm to 25 ft-lb.

11. Lower the ATV back onto the ground.

12. Test drive the ATV to ensure that the ball joints are installed correctly.

*Note: It's important to consult your vehicle's service manual for specific instructions and torque values related to your model and variant.*
