How change the oil on a 1993 flh Harley Davidson?

Tools and materials needed:

- New oil filter (Harley-Davidson part number 63731-81 or equivalent)

- New crush washer for the oil drain plug (Harley-Davidson part number 62221-83A or equivalent)

- Oil drain pan

- Funnel

- 4-quart container of SAE 20W-50 motorcycle oil (Harley-Davidson part number 99829-94 or equivalent)

- Rags

- Safety glasses

Instructions:

1. Park the motorcycle on a level surface.

2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.

3. Place the oil drain pan under the motorcycle, directly beneath the oil drain plug.

4. Use the wrench to loosen and remove the oil drain plug. Be careful not to drop the plug into the oil pan.

5. Allow the oil to drain completely from the engine. This may take a few minutes.

6. Replace the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.

7. Remove the old oil filter by turning it counterclockwise until it loosens. Be careful not to spill any oil.

8. Apply a thin film of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.

9. Screw the new oil filter onto the engine until it is snug. Do not over-tighten the oil filter.

10. Use the funnel to add 3 quarts of new oil to the engine.

11. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.

12. Check the oil level in the sight glass. The oil level should be between the "full" and "add" marks.

13. If necessary, add more oil to the engine until the oil level is correct.

Here are some additional tips for changing the oil on your Harley-Davidson:

- Be sure to use the correct type of oil for your motorcycle. The owner's manual will specify the recommended oil type.

- Do not overfill the engine with oil. This can cause engine damage.

- Change the oil regularly according to the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual.
